How to use Litematica on Lunar Client
Lunar Client can run Litematica if that profile uses the Fabric add-on and both MaLiLib and Litematica jars match the game version. The hologram is still a client overlay. This page follows Lunar’s published Fabric steps; a live Lunar session was not run here.
- Open Lunar Client and pick the Java version you will play. Files from this site need 1.21.4.
- Turn on the Fabric add-on for that version. Lunar documents Fabric mods from 1.16.5 upward.
- Open that version’s settings (the gear), go to the Mods tab, and add both MaLiLib and Litematica for the same game version.
- Launch, open a world, and press M. If the menu never appears, the jars are missing, mismatched, or Lunar is blocking that Fabric profile.
- Put the .litematic in this Lunar profile’s schematics folder, not a different launcher’s .minecraft tree, then Load Schematics.

Fabric add-on, then the two jars
In the Lunar launcher, open the version selector, choose the version, and enable Fabric. Lunar’s help says Fabric mod loading starts at 1.16.5. Open the gear for that version, then the Mods tab. Drag the two Fabric jars in, or install them from Lunar’s Modrinth browser if that panel is on your build. Official files: MaLiLib on Modrinth and Litematica on Modrinth. Pair the jar with the row on Litematica download by version.
The generic Fabric path (official launcher, Modrinth App, CurseForge) is how to install Litematica. Use that when you do not need Lunar’s overlay, or when Lunar’s Fabric profile will not launch.
Which folder Lunar actually reads
Litematica lists files under schematics in the instance that is running. Lunar keeps its own game directory per profile. Copying into vanilla %appdata%\.minecraft\schematics does nothing if you pressed Play in Lunar. After the first launch with Litematica loaded, that profile grows a schematics folder. Nested folders are fine. The import clicks are how to import a litematic.
Empty list, .litematic.txt, or a 1.20 jar on a 1.21.4 profile is the same checklist as any launcher: Litematica not working. Files from this generator are data version 4189 (Java 1.21.4).
When Lunar and Litematica fight
Lunar ships Sodium, Iris, Fabric API, and other client mods. Iris shaders are a common reason the hologram becomes a blue box or vanishes; turn shaders off and toggle schematic rendering with M+G. Lunar also publishes a Vanilla Addon that starts Minecraft without Lunar features, which is the fallback they recommend when a Fabric mod misbehaves. A crash on save or on the config screen is almost always the loader mix, not the schematic.
Easy Place and creative paste still follow the same rules as on any client. A public server that bans placement assistance will flag those packets no matter which launcher sent them. For a Realm, the limits are on Litematica on a Realm.
FAQ
Does Litematica work on Lunar Client?
Yes, on a Java profile with the Fabric add-on. Lunar’s own blog lists Litematica as a Fabric mod you add yourself. You still need MaLiLib. Bedrock Lunar builds cannot load it.
Where is the schematics folder on Lunar Client?
Inside the game directory of the Lunar profile you launched, in a folder named schematics. That is not always the vanilla %appdata%\.minecraft tree. If Load Schematics is empty, you copied the file into another launcher’s instance.
Do I still need MaLiLib?
Yes. Lunar does not bundle it. Drop malilib-fabric-…jar and litematica-fabric-…jar built for the same Minecraft version. If only Litematica is present, Fabric stops on the missing dependency and M does nothing.
Lunar crashes or the hologram never draws.
Lunar states that some Fabric mods conflict with its own add-ons. Use Lunar’s Vanilla Addon (Minecraft without Lunar features) on the same version, or a plain Fabric profile in the official launcher. The .litematic file is not the crash.
