Compare plansWhat the farm kernel builds
The prompt word farm, barn, or stable selects this shape, even if you also typed house. Shape order is in the prompt tips. The ground layer is farmland. A single row at the middle of the depth is water, overwriting farmland on that line. Every inner column except that water row gets wheat at the fully grown age. The border at the next layer is a fence from the palette: oak fence for an oak farm, a stone-brick wall if you asked for stone brick, nether-brick fence if you asked for nether.
A shed sits in one corner. Its width is at most 7 and at most two less than the plot width. Walls use the palette wall block, the floor inside the shed is the palette floor, and a door faces south on the low corner. The shed is not a barn interior. There are no chests, composters, or animal pens, because entity and block-entity lists in the file are empty.
Size and hydration
The prefilled size is 15×7×13, which fits the free cap of 20. Height mostly changes the shed, not the crop layer. Wheat and the fence stay low. If you push depth well past the default, the single water row may sit more than four blocks from the outer crop line. Minecraft only hydrates farmland out to four blocks, so those edges can dry after the schematic is pasted even though the file stored moisture 7. Generate a shallower plot, or add water by hand after you build. That limit is the game’s, not a second download.
Free versus Pro caps are on size limits. A typed side above 20 needs Pro. “100 block farm” is read as 10, because only two-digit numbers are parsed.
Survival hologram or paste
Download the .litematic and import it. The bottom layer is farmland and water. The layer above is wheat, fence, and the shed walls. Layer mode makes that split obvious. Wheat seeds, a hoe, fence, and the shed blocks are the shopping list. Easy place still spends those items. See easy place.
Water and farmland paste more cleanly with the .schem on a flat dirt area in creative, using WorldEdit import. //paste -a skips air, which is useful if you do not want the empty shed interior to delete blocks you already placed. A normal paste matches the file, including air inside the shed. This is Java only. Bedrock cannot open either file. Java vs Bedrock explains that. Other shapes on this compiler: house, bridge.
What to gather before you start
Read the material list on the result before you leave the page. Farmland is a dirt block you hoe in survival. The schematic stores the hoed block, so the list counts farmland, not dirt. You still need a hoe and a water bucket if you are building by hand rather than pasting. Wheat items in the list are the crop blocks at age 7. In survival you plant seeds and wait, unless you are in creative and the paste writes the grown crop directly. Fence count is the perimeter, not a second paddock. The shed uses the same wall, floor, and door wood as the rest of the palette, plus a lantern only if that palette’s house kernel would have used one — the farm shed itself does not add extra lanterns beyond the blocks in the shell.
Stand outside the fence when you place the hologram so you are not inside the shed door. The door is on the low corner, facing south, same convention as the house kernel. If that faces the wrong path, rotate the placement. You do not need a second farm file for a mirrored plot. Two placements of the same .litematic can sit side by side if you want a longer field. Each placement still asks you to spend the blocks. The file does not clone items into your inventory.
FAQ
What blocks are in the farm schematic?
Farmland stamped as hydrated, one water row through the middle, wheat at age 7, a fence around the edge, and a short shed using the palette you named, with a door.
Can I ask for carrots or a mob farm?
No. The farm kernel is wheat, water, fence, and a shed. Words like barn or stable select this kernel. They do not add animals, hoppers, or a spawner.
Will the outer farmland stay wet?
The file sets moisture to 7, but Minecraft recalculates hydration from water within four blocks. On a deep plot, hoe extra water or generate a smaller depth so the center channel reaches the crop rows.
