Litematica Rotate Not Working

Click Rotation on Configure Schematic placement. If the hologram does not turn, the placement is locked, the row is not selected, or the key you are pressing was never bound.

Checks

  1. Watch the action bar. “Placement rotated to …” means the turn happened. If the house then vanished, it orbited the origin corner; move the placement back.
  2. Open Schematic Placements with M+P and click the row until it has the white outline. Numpad Minus with nothing selected does not configure that hologram.
  3. If the screen says the placement cannot be modified, it is Locked. Unlock it, then click Rotation.
  4. Stop pressing a rotate key you saw in a video. schematicPlacementRotation is an empty string on the 1.21.4 build until you bind it under M+C, Hotkeys. The Rotation button does not need that bind.
  5. On a laptop, Numpad Minus may not exist. Bind openGuiPlacementSettings to a key you can press, then open Configure and click Rotation.
  6. Leave Load Schematics. That list is the file. It has no Rotation control. Create a placement first.
  7. If Alt+scroll resized a box, the tool is in Area Selection. That gesture nudges; it does not rotate. Switch to Schematic Placement.
  8. A .litematic does not respond to //rotate. That command turns a WorldEdit clipboard.

The working sequence, including how the 1.21.4 hotkeys differ from a 1.12.2 tutorial, is how to rotate schematics in Litematica. Moving the corner back into view is how to move a schematic. //rotate versus the Rotation button is Litematica vs WorldEdit rotate.

A missing hologram before you ever click Rotation is rendering or a placement that was never created, which is schematic not showing. An empty Load Schematics list is a folder problem, not a rotate problem: Litematica not working.

Rotate acts on a placement that already loaded. If you still need a file, the shapes are on Schematics Minecraft and the save step is the Litematica schematics download.

FAQ

The action bar says it rotated, but the door looks the same.

A square tower or a centered room can look unchanged from one side after 90 degrees. Walk to another face, or click Rotation again until the low-Z door meets the path. The message means the placement did turn.

I bound a key and it still does nothing while the menu is open.

The hotkey runs in the world, not while a GUI is up. Close the screen and press the chord with the placement selected. The Rotation button is the control that works inside Configure.

Mirror is refused with the same lock message.

Locked blocks both transforms. Unlock once. The flip cycle itself is the Mirror button, not a second Rotation click.
