How to Mirror a Schematic in Litematica
On Configure Schematic placement, click Mirror. It cycles none, left-right, and front-back. Left-right swaps east and west. Front-back swaps north and south. The .litematic on disk stays as downloaded.
Steps
- Select the placement in Schematic Placements (M+P) so the row has the white outline.
- Press Numpad Minus or click Configure. The title is Configure Schematic placement.
- Click Mirror once for left-right, again for front-back, and again to clear the flip.
- Read the action bar. It prints “Placement mirrored to …”. A locked placement prints that it cannot be modified instead.
- If the hologram jumped to the other side of the origin corner, nudge it back onto the plot.
- Bind schematicPlacementMirror on M+C, Hotkeys, when you want a key. It does nothing until that bind exists.
Quarter turns are the other button. The sequence, the unbound rotate hotkey, and the 1.21.4 notes are how to rotate schematics in Litematica. Putting the ghost back on the plot after a flip is how to move a schematic.
What left-right and front-back do to a house
Mirror is applied around the placement origin. These files put that corner at 0, 0, 0, so a left-right flip sends +X blocks to −X and the house can leave the ground you were looking at. Front-back does the same along Z. The action bar is the confirmation that the flip happened; the jump is the corner pivot, not a failed click.
Doors on houses and castles from this site sit on the low-Z face. Front-back moves that door to the high-Z face. Left-right leaves it on the low-Z face and swaps the hinge side. Sign text is not rewritten into reversed letters; the sign block faces the reflected direction. Reset all sub-regions on this screen clears rotation and mirror together. On a one-region file that is the whole hologram.
If the action bar never confirms the flip, use rotate not working.
The flip applies to a placement you already loaded. The files this site writes are listed on Schematics Minecraft and saved from the Litematica schematics download.
FAQ
Is Mirror the same as clicking Rotation twice?
No. Two Rotation clicks is 180 degrees and keeps the build’s handedness: a left-hinge door is still a left-hinge door after the turn. Mirror swaps that hinge to the other side. Stairs climb the reflected way.
Can I mirror the schematic upside down?
No. Left-right and front-back are horizontal. The Mirror button does not invert Y, so the roof stays the roof. An upside-down clipboard is a WorldEdit rotate around X, not this control.
Can I mirror only the roof?
Not on a file from this site. The compiler writes one region, so Mirror flips the whole placement. A separate schematic of just that piece is how you transform one part.
