Litematica 1.21.5

Litematica for Minecraft 1.21.5 is a single release, 0.22.5, with MaLiLib 0.24.3. Unlike the 1.21 and 1.20.1 lines, the file is pinned to one game version, and MaLiLib refuses to run next to an old Iris. Everything below was read from Modrinth and the jars on 2026-10-05.

1. Make a Fabric instance for exactly Minecraft 1.21.5 (not 1.21.4, not 1.21.6) and launch it once.
2. Download Fabric API for 1.21.5. MaLiLib 0.24.3 needs its networking module at 4.4.0 or newer.
3. Download malilib-fabric-1.21.5-0.24.3.jar from Modrinth.
4. Download litematica-fabric-1.21.5-0.22.5.jar and put all three jars in the instance's mods folder. If Iris is installed, it must be 1.8.11 or newer.
5. Open a world, press M, and check that the Litematica menu opens before you touch a schematic.
6. Copy the .litematic into the instance's schematics folder and use M, Load Schematics.

The 1.21.5 files and what each one requires

MaLiLib 0.24.0, 0.24.1 and 0.24.2 also exist for 1.21.5 (all releases, 2025-04-22 to 2025-06-22), but Litematica 0.22.5 will not start with them. The 0.22.5 change note on Modrinth is short: it syncs various fixes from the 1.21.8 line.

Why 1.21.5 is easier to break than 1.21.1

Two things in the metadata. First, minecraft: 1.21.5 is an exact match; a 1.21.4 or 1.21.6 profile gets a mismatch report from Fabric instead of a working menu, and 1.21.6 to 1.21.8 have their own file in the version table. Second, MaLiLib's breaks block names Iris. A launcher pack that bundles an Iris from before 1.8.11 will stop at the mod-load screen with an incompatibility message that names it. The fix is the Iris update, not a different Litematica.

Loading the schematic

Folder, key and menu are the same as on every version: the instance's schematics folder, then M and Load Schematics, then place the hologram. The full walk-through is how to import a litematic. If Load Schematics lists nothing, go to Litematica not working.

Generator files on 1.21.5

The compiler on this site writes Litematica format version 6 and data version 4189, which is 1.21.4. A 1.21.5 client is 4325, so the file is older than the game. In the 1.21.5 source branch the loader only shows its future-version warning when a file is more than 100 data versions newer than the client, and for an older file it runs its post-processing step instead. That is the safe direction. A check on 2026-10-05 found all 96 block ids the generator can write present in the PrismarineJS 1.21.5 block list. The part nobody here has done is an actual load on a 1.21.5 client, so confirm with the material list. The guaranteed match for generator files remains 1.21.4.

Common 1.21.5 errors

• Incompatible mods screen. Read it: it names either malilib below 0.24.3, Fabric API networking below 4.4.0, or Iris below 1.8.11. See MaLiLib missing.
• Hologram flickers or does not draw. Shaders. Disable them for the session; Modrinth's description is explicit that this is the cause from 1.21.3 up.
• Menu opens, schematic list is empty. Wrong instance folder.
• Other players do not see the hologram. Litematica is client-only: it draws ghost blocks on your screen, and a server does not need it. The server-side helper is covered on Litematica and Servux.
