Litematic to schem converter
Turn a Litematica .litematic into a Sponge .schem that WorldEdit and FAWE can //paste. It runs in this tab, nothing is uploaded, and builds up to 5,000 blocks are free.

Why a .litematic will not paste
A .litematic is built for the Litematica mod: a palette, a bit-packed block array, and metadata the mod uses for its hologram and material list. WorldEdit's //schem load looks for the Sponge layout, which has a root tag called Schematic, a palette keyed by block-state strings, and one varint per block. The block data is the same idea, the container is different. That is why a renamed file is rejected, and why the fix is a real conversion. The side-by-side is on litematic vs schem.
After you convert
- Put the file where WorldEdit looks:
plugins/WorldEdit/schematics/on Paper,plugins/FastAsyncWorldEdit/schematics/on FAWE,config/worldedit/schematics/on a Fabric or Forge mod. - Stand where the build's origin should be, then run
//schem load nameand//paste. Steps and flags are in how to import a schematic in WorldEdit. - If the paste lands rotated, use
//rotatebefore pasting; the conversion does not rotate anything.
What to expect
Every block and its state is carried across, along with chest contents and sign text. Entities (item frames, armor stands, paintings) are not, and the page tells you how many your file had. The Minecraft data version of the source is written into the .schem. The converter does not upgrade blocks between versions, so convert a build made on 1.21 for a 1.21 server. If you need the opposite direction, use schem to litematic, or the all-formats converter for structure .nbt.
Free covers builds up to 5,000 blocks. Past that you get the preview and block list, and the download needs Pro, $9.99 once. Refund within 7 days if the converted file does not load in current WorldEdit or Litematica for Java 1.21: hello@minecraftschematicgenerator.com.
Going to a vanilla structure block instead of WorldEdit? The structure block NBT guide covers the 48-block limit and where the file goes.
FAQ
Can WorldEdit open a .litematic directly?
No. WorldEdit reads Sponge .schem files (and the old .schematic). Renaming a .litematic changes only the name; the NBT inside is a different layout. Convert it instead. WorldEdit page.
Which .schem version does it write?
Sponge schematic version 2, with the data version of your source file. WorldEdit and FAWE for Minecraft 1.13 and later read it.
Does a .litematic with several regions work?
Yes. The regions are merged into one block grid that spans all of them, using each region’s position. Gaps between regions become air. Region names are not stored in a .schem.
Is there a size limit?
Free conversion covers up to 5,000 non-air blocks. Larger builds can be previewed but need Pro ($9.99 once) to download.
