What the dome kernel builds

The word dome, sphere, or orb in a prompt selects one kernel. It takes the smaller of the width, the depth, and twice the height, halves it, and subtracts one for the radius. A 13×9×13 box gives a radius of 5. The centre sits low in the box, so the bottom of the sphere falls below the floor and is cut off. What remains is a hollow shell one block thick, plus a floor slab over the whole footprint and a filled disk of floor blocks inside the base.

There is one door, two blocks tall, set into the shell near the front edge. It is oak in every palette, because the door wood comes from the palette rather than from the wall block. Nothing else is inside: no lighting, no stairs, no windows. Decide on lighting and a window pattern after you place it. Palette words and how they map to blocks are on the prompt tips page.

Pick dimensions for the shape you want

If the height is less than half the width, the radius is limited by the height, and the dome looks flatter than the footprint suggests. For a tall hemisphere, type a height of at least half the width, for example 13×9×13 or 17×11×17. Width and depth do not need to match, but the smaller one sets the radius, so an unequal box wastes the longer side as flat floor. Free caps each side at 20, which gives you a radius up to 9. The Pro cap of 48 allows a radius up to 23. See size limits for how numbers in a prompt are read.

Put it in a world

For a survival build, download the .litematic, then load it in Litematica and build a ring at a time with layer mode. A dome is a case where single-layer rendering helps a lot, because the shell curves in and the rings shrink as you go up. The material list tells you how many stacks of the wall block to carry. For a creative paste, download the .schem and follow the WorldEdit import steps, or use Litematica’s own paste mode.

FAQ

Is this a Minecraft dome generator?

It is a dome kernel inside a schematic generator. Type dome, sphere, or orb with a size and palette and it writes a hollow, one-block-thick shell on a floor slab, with a door. It does not take a radius field or a thickness setting.

Can I make a full sphere?

Not as a separate option. The kernel centers a hollow sphere low in the box and the part below the floor is cut off, so you get the upper dome, not a ball. For a ball, build two domes or mirror one by hand.

How big can the dome be?

Free downloads allow up to 20 on any side. Pro allows up to 48. The dome radius comes from the smaller of width, depth, and twice the height, so make the height at least half the width or the shell gets squashed.

What does a 13x9x13 stone brick dome contain?

The compile of that prompt has 231 stone bricks for the shell, 169 stone for the floor, and a two-block oak door. The numbers change with the size and palette you type.
