What the wall kernel builds
The base is a one-block layer of the palette floor across the whole footprint. On top of it the generator fills a solid body of the wall block, leaving the front and back layer of the box free, so the body is two blocks narrower than the depth. On the top layer it puts a fence along the front and back edge of the body, so the top of the body works as a walkway with a rail on each side. In the stone palette the rail is the stone brick wall block; in a wood palette it is that wood’s fence.
Posts run across the full depth every few blocks, starting at the left end. The spacing is the length divided by five, rounded down, never less than four. A 20-long wall has posts at 0, 4, 8, 12, and 16, so the far end has no post. In wood palettes the posts are logs, which gives the wall a visible rhythm. In the stone palette the post block equals the wall block, so the posts only show as small bumps on the front and back faces.
Choose a size
Length is the width, thickness comes from the depth, and height is the box height. A tall, thin wall: 20×10×5. A thick rampart: 20×8×9. The bottom layer is the base and the top layer holds the rails, so a height of 8 gives a body six blocks tall. The free cap is 20 per side; see size limits. If you only type a size word, the depth is about a third of the length. Palette words are listed on prompt tips.
Place it
A solid wall uses a lot of blocks, so open the material list before you start, and build one layer at a time with layer mode. To line up several sections, Easy Place helps with orientation. For a creative paste, use the .schem with WorldEdit.
Walls go with a castle, towers, or an arch gate. Java Edition only.
FAQ
What words make the generator build a wall?
Wall, rampart, or barrier. If the prompt also says castle, tower, bridge, pyramid, dome, arch, fountain, farm, or circle, that shape wins. Type the wall on its own.
How long can the wall be for free?
Twenty blocks. Every side is capped at 20 on the free plan, so a request for 24 or 32 comes back as 20. Pro allows up to 48. Place two copies end to end for a longer free wall.
What does a 20x8x7 stone brick wall contain?
The compile has 695 stone bricks, 140 stone for the base layer, and 30 stone brick wall blocks for the rails. An oak version has 590 oak planks, 245 oak logs, and 30 oak fences.
Is the wall hollow?
No. The body is solid. It is five blocks thick on a seven-deep box, with the posts reaching the full depth. There is no walkway room inside, no door, and no stairs.
What do I get if I only type “small oak wall”?
A size word with no numbers gives an 11×8×6 wall: 258 oak planks, 126 oak logs, and 16 oak fences.
