Litematica Schematic Verifier
The Schematic Verifier compares what you built with what the schematic says should be there, and tells you what is missing, wrong, or extra. It is the quickest way to find the one stair that is facing the wrong way in a large build.
- Select the placement you are building (M+P, click it so it has the white outline).
- Press M+V to open the Schematic Verifier for that placement.
- Click Start verification and let it scan. Move around if it reports Unseen Chunks.
- Switch the list to Missing Blocks, Wrong Blocks, or Wrong States and fix what it shows.
- Use Ignore for differences you accept, and Reset data before you verify again.
What the verifier reports
When a run finishes, the status line splits the mismatches into categories. These are the labels the mod itself uses.
| Category | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Missing | The schematic has a block here and the world has air |
| Wrong Block | A different block type than the schematic expects |
| Wrong State | The right block with different properties (facing, half, waterlogged) |
| Extra | A block in the world where the schematic has air |
| Different | A close match by block tag, such as white glass for glass; only shown when enableDifferentBlocks is on |
The list can be switched between All, Correct State, Diff Blocks, Extra Blocks, Missing Blocks, Wrong Blocks, and Wrong States. Buttons let you start, stop, or resume the scan, reset the data, ignore individual entries, reset the ignore list, change the range, and toggle the Info HUD.
Markers in the world
With the overlay on, mismatched positions are drawn as boxes in the world. By default the overlay is enabled, the side alpha is 0.2, and the number of positions rendered at once is capped at 1000 (verifierErrorHilightMaxPositions). If you have more mismatches than that, you only see the first set, so fix those and run it again. Hold the info-overlay key (I by default) while looking at a marker to see details about the block, subject to the server-side data setting described in the mod’s config comments. The main keys are on Litematica hotkeys.
When to use it
- After a long session. A quick pass finds missing stairs or windows before you move on to the next section.
- With Easy Place. If you place quickly, mistakes in facing happen. See Easy Place.
- To finish a build. Pair it with the material list. The list tells you what to carry; the verifier tells you where it goes.
If the hologram itself is not drawing, the verifier has nothing to compare against; start with schematic not showing. To build by floor while you verify, use layer mode. To see how big a generated build is, check the size limits, or make a starter build with the generator.
FAQ
How do I find missing blocks in a Litematica build?
Open the Schematic Verifier with M+V for the selected placement, press Start verification, and view the Missing Blocks list. The overlay draws markers where blocks are missing, wrong, or extra, as long as verifierOverlayEnabled is on.
What do Wrong Block, Wrong State, Extra and Different mean?
Wrong block is the wrong block type at a position. Wrong state is the right block with the wrong properties, such as facing or waterlogging. Missing is air where the schematic wants a block. Extra is a block where the schematic wants air. Different is a close match based on block tags, shown only when enableDifferentBlocks is on.
Why does the verifier say Unseen Chunks?
It can only compare chunks your client has loaded. The count shows how many of the placement’s chunks it has not seen yet. Walk or fly near them and it continues.
Why are there no markers in the world?
Check that the verifier overlay is enabled in the Info Overlays tab, or toggle it with toggleVerifierOverlayRendering, which has no default key. The mod also prints a warning with the setting name when the overlay is off.
