Litematica easy place

Easy place is the survival shortcut inside Litematica. It spends blocks from your inventory and writes them where the hologram already decided they go. It is not a creative fill, and it is not part of the file this site downloads.

  1. Load the .litematic and place the hologram where you will build.
  2. Open the material list and gather the blocks. Easy place cannot invent them.
  3. Put the next block on your hotbar. Look at the matching ghost block.
  4. Trigger easy place with the hotkey shown in your Litematica hotkey list.
  5. If a stair or door refuses, place that block by hand against the hologram.

What the mode actually does

A .litematic from the generator is a ghost. You still mine, craft, and carry the blocks. Easy place watches the block you are aiming at. If that ghost position wants the item you are holding, and the spot is in reach and empty in the world, the mod places it for you. The material list then drops that block out of “remaining”.

Turn the mode on from Litematica’s configuration. The exact key is whatever your install shows under Hotkeys. Defaults move between mod versions, so read the binding in the M menu instead of trusting a wiki key from another year. If the key does nothing at all, the mod is not loaded. That is the not working page, not an easy-place setting.

Inventory, hotbar, and reach

You need the item. A chest full of stone bricks behind you does not count until you are holding the blocks, or at least carrying them in the inventory the mod is willing to read. If the count is correct on the material list but easy place ignores you, move the stack onto the hotbar and try again. Some builds of the mod only act on the hotbar.

Survival reach is shorter than creative reach. The ghost can be visible and still too far to place. Step closer, or stand inside the footprint on the layer you are building. Adventure mode and claims on servers can block the place even when the client shows the hologram. Easy place does not bypass spawn protection or a WorldGuard region.

Stairs, slabs, doors, and panes

Kernels on this site write block states, not just block ids. A stone-brick stair has a facing and a half. A door has a half and a facing. Glass panes on houses have a specific connection axis. Easy place has to end up with that state. If you are holding the right stair item and the mode still refuses, the facing you would normally place does not match the ghost. Place that piece by hand, using the hologram as the stencil. Doors are the same: the house kernel puts a door on the south face of the front wall, two blocks tall. Put the door item in the lower opening.

Slabs in roofs are often the bottom half. If easy place keeps putting a top slab, place the roof course manually. The material list still counts one slab item per slab block, which matches the CSV you can download before you start.

A survival order that does not waste the quota

Generate once. Read the material list on the page and craft a first load: floor blocks, wall blocks, glass, and the door. Import the file, place the hologram, and set it on the ground before you spend blocks. Turn on layer mode so only one Y level is visible. Easy place that layer, then raise the layer. Towers from this compiler put a floor about every five blocks, so those discs are natural stopping points.

Do not easy-place a .schem. WorldEdit paste is a different workflow and requires the .schem download plus permission to paste. Easy place is only the Litematica hologram. If you are on Bedrock, neither file nor this mode exists. Stay on Java, which is the only edition these downloads target.

When the hologram and the world match, remaining hits zero for that region. Air is not a material. The site’s CSV is the full recipe; the in-game list shrinks as you build. If the two lists disagree on an empty plot, you loaded a different file than the one you just generated, or part of the ghost is in unloaded chunks.

FAQ

Does Litematica easy place give free blocks?

No. It places a block you already have, into the position the hologram shows. If your inventory does not contain that block, nothing is placed.

Why does easy place do nothing?

The item in your hand does not match the ghost, you are out of survival reach, you are looking at air in the schematic, or the hotkey is unbound. Stairs and slabs also fail when the facing you would place does not match the schematic.

Should I use easy place on a fresh plot?

Yes, after you move the hologram onto the ground. Pair it with layer mode on tall builds so you are not aiming through three floors of ghost blocks.
