Use Litematica on a server when you are not op

A download from this generator is a file on your machine. It does not join the server, it does not grant operator, and it does not draw a hologram on anyone else’s screen. On a Realm or a survival server you do not admin, the usable half is the .litematic. The .schem waits until you have WorldEdit permission.

Install Litematica on your own Java 1.21.4 Fabric client. The server does not install it for you.
Load the .litematic and place the hologram. Only your screen shows the ghost blocks.
Open the material list and gather those blocks. Nothing in the download is already in the world.
Place by hand, or use easy place only if that server allows the mod. Easy place spends blocks you hold.
Leave //schem load and //paste for a world where you actually have WorldEdit permission.

Two powers people mix up

Litematica shows a hologram and, if you turn it on, helps you place blocks you already hold. That work happens in your client. WorldEdit and FAWE write blocks into the world from the server. //schem load and //paste are the second kind. They fail, or they are absent, when you are a normal player. The error is not a broken download. The WorldEdit import guide is for the case where you do have that permission, including single-player.

Both files come from the same generate. Take the .litematic when you will build by eye. Take the .schem when you will paste. Renaming one into the other does not change which program can read it. Format details stay on litematic vs schem.

Realms

A Realm is a Mojang-hosted world. You cannot drop a mod jar onto it, and you cannot add WorldEdit. People still use Litematica there because the mod never needed the Realm to cooperate. Install Fabric, MaLiLib, and Litematica on the instance you use to join, matching Java 1.21.4, which is data version 4189 in these files. Put the .litematic in that instance’s schematics folder. Join the Realm, open a world, press M, and load the schematic. The menu is not on the title screen. Folder mistakes are the same ones on Litematica not working.

What you see next is private. A friend standing in the same spot sees terrain and whatever blocks you have actually placed. They do not see the ghost walls. If you are planning a build with other people, send them the material list or agree on a footprint in chat. The hologram is not a shared blueprint unless every person loads the same file in their own client.

Servers that allow the mod, and servers that do not

Some survival servers expect Litematica and publish a modpack. Some ban extra clients and will kick you for Fabric. Read that server’s rules before you join with the mod. This site cannot tell from the .litematic whether a given IP allows it.

Easy place is the sensitive part. It places a block from your hotbar into the position the hologram marks. It does not spawn items, and it does not bypass spawn protection. It does send placements faster than most people click. If the server treats that as a cheat, turn easy place off and place against the hologram by hand, or leave. Do not look for a toggle that hides the mod from the server. There is not one here, and using one would be a different product. The survival rules for the hotkey itself are on easy place: the block has to be in your inventory, stairs and doors often need a manual click, and layer mode keeps a tall build from becoming a cloud of ghost blocks.

Version 1.21.4 against an older world

These files store Minecraft data version 4189. That is Java Edition 1.21.4. Your client has to understand those block states or Litematica will refuse the schematic. A Realm or server still on 1.20 will also refuse the 1.21.4 client, which means you cannot be in that world and looking at this hologram at the same time. Generate is not a version converter. If the world you play is older, this file is for a 1.21.4 single-player copy or a server that has moved up, not for that older address.

Cherry, bamboo mosaic, and other states in the compiler’s palette are part of that data version. An older schematic tool that “opens anything” may drop those blocks or shift them. Test the hologram in 1.21.4 Litematica before you promise a group you will build it on their server.

What to hand the group instead of a ghost

The material CSV is the part other players can use without the mod. It is a shopping list for the same grid as the hologram: how many of each block the compiler placed. It is not a chest already filled on the server. Gather, or split the list, then place. Material list explains how that count is produced. Free builds stay at 20 blocks on a side, so the list for a free house is short on purpose. A larger keep is the Pro size, still the same two files, still not a paste permission.

Single-player and an opened-to-LAN world are the other case. You are the one running the world. Litematica still shows only on clients that have the mod, but you can also use the .schem in a local WorldEdit if you installed it. That path is the WorldEdit page, not this one. FAQ

Can I use Litematica on a Minecraft Realm?

Yes, on your client. A Realm does not run Fabric, so it will not load Litematica or WorldEdit for the world. Your Fabric client can still draw the hologram while you are connected. Friends on the Realm do not see those ghost blocks.

Why does //schem load say I do not have permission?

The .schem file is on your computer until someone with WorldEdit or FAWE permission puts it in that server’s schematics folder and pastes it. Downloading the file from this site does not op you.

Will other players see my hologram?

No. Litematica is a client render. The ghost exists in your game. Their clients, and the server, have no copy of it unless you place real blocks or someone pastes a schematic the server actually loaded.

Is easy place allowed on multiplayer?

That is the server’s rule, not a switch in the file. Easy place sends ordinary block placements from your inventory. If the server bans client mods or flags fast placement, do not use it there. Build from the material list by hand, or stay in single-player.
