Java vs Bedrock schematics

A schematic search often mixes two games that do not share build files. This site is Java Edition only. If the world you open has no Fabric mods and no WorldEdit, a download from the generator will not appear in it.

Two editions, two file families

Java and Bedrock can both show a dirt house. They do not store that house in the same bytes. Block state names, waterlogging, and door properties differ. A file that is valid gzip NBT for Litematica is noise to a Bedrock structure block. Renaming .litematic to .mcstructure does not translate it.

What you can do on Java

Install Litematica on Fabric, then import the .litematic and build in survival with the material list. Or download the .schem and paste it with WorldEdit on a Java server or in single-player. Both files use Minecraft data version 4189, which is Java 1.21.4. Use a client and, if you paste, a server from that era so cherry, bamboo, and deepslate states exist.

“Windows 10” and “Windows 11” do not tell you the edition. The Microsoft Store build and Minecraft Launcher’s Bedrock tab are Bedrock. The Java tab, with a mods folder and a Fabric profile, is the one these files are for. Realms are also split by edition. A Java Realm can take a WorldEdit paste only if the host allows it. A Bedrock Realm cannot take a .litematic.

What this site will not pretend to do

There is no Bedrock toggle, no Marketplace pack, and no behavior-pack export. Add-ons and .mcaddon files are unrelated. The old MCEdit .schematic format is not written either. If a video says an AI builder exported a Bedrock structure, that is a different product. The format page on this site is litematic vs schem, and the definition page is what a Minecraft schematic is.

Marketplace maps and template worlds are full worlds, not a hologram. This generator does not ship a world save. You keep playing your own Java world and either project the build or paste it. That is why the material list exists: survival Java players still gather blocks.

If the file “corrupted” on a phone or console

It did not corrupt. The device cannot read it. Downloading again on the same device will fail the same way. Move to Java Edition on a computer, follow Litematica not working if the Java list is empty, and keep the prompt short using prompt tips. Friends on Bedrock cannot load the file you send them in chat. They need Java, or they need to rebuild from a screenshot. Do not pay for Pro expecting a console file. Pro changes the size cap and the daily quota. It does not add an edition.

A practical split for a group

If some friends are on Java and some are on a console, send the Java players the .litematic and a screenshot of the material list. The console players can copy the shell by eye. Do not send them the gzip file and ask them to “import the schematic” in the Bedrock settings menu. That menu is for worlds and resource packs, not for Litematica NBT.

Education Edition and console legacy editions are also outside this download. So is a Minecraft Preview experiment on Bedrock. The only preview that matters here is the isometric preview on the generator page, which is a picture of the Java grid before you download it. When that picture looks right, save both files if anyone in the group might paste with WorldEdit later. You still need a Java server for that paste. A Bedrock dedicated server will not run the WorldEdit plugin these commands assume.

Block names inside the file use the Java id form minecraft:oak_planks. Bedrock documentation sometimes shows the same words and a different storage layout. Matching names in a wiki are not evidence the file will open. Test on Java 1.21.4 with Litematica, which is the data version written into both containers (4189). If that client loads the hologram, the file is fine and the other device was the wrong edition.
