Litematica vs WorldEdit Rotate
Litematica turns the hologram with the Rotation button, 90 degrees at a time, around vertical. WorldEdit turns the clipboard with //rotate 90 before //paste. Survival uses the button. Paste uses the command.
Same word, two transforms
| Litematica | WorldEdit | |
|---|---|---|
| What turns | The placement hologram in this world. | The clipboard, after a load or a copy. |
| Control | Rotation on Configure Schematic placement. | //rotate 90, //rotate 180, or //rotate 270. |
| Mirror | The Mirror button: left-right or front-back. | //flip, with a direction such as north or east when the axis matters. |
| Angles | Quarter turns around vertical only. | Quarter turns. The arguments are Y, then optional X, then optional Z. //rotate 0 90 turns the clipboard around X. |
| File | .litematic. The download is not rewritten. | .schem on the clipboard. Paste writes blocks into the world. |
| Who can do it | Your client. No operator permission. | Whoever is allowed to load and paste on that world. |
Steps
- If you are building in survival from a hologram, rotate the Litematica placement. Do not run //rotate.
- Select the placement, open Configure Schematic placement, and click Rotation.
- If you are pasting, download the .schem, //schem load it, then //rotate 90 on the clipboard, then //paste.
- Use //flip when the paste should be a mirror. That is not //rotate 180.
- Leave the .litematic in Litematica’s schematics folder. Renaming it to .schem does not make //rotate read it.
The button path, the unbound schematicPlacementRotation hotkey, and the 1.21.4 notes are how to rotate schematics in Litematica. Left-right versus front-back is how to mirror a schematic. Folder and //paste order are how to import a schematic in WorldEdit.
Which mod to install at all, hologram versus paste, is Litematica vs WorldEdit. The containers are .litematic vs .schem. On a server you do not admin, the hologram still rotates locally; loading that file is how to load a schematic on a server.
The turn is on a file you already have. The shapes are on Schematics Minecraft, and the Litematica file is the Litematica schematics download.
FAQ
Does //rotate 90 change the .litematic?
No. //rotate turns the WorldEdit clipboard after //schem load or //copy. The .litematic hologram stays where the placement menu left it. The .schem on disk is also unchanged until you save a clipboard yourself.
Can Litematica turn a build upside down?
No. Its Rotation button is yaw only: 90 degree steps around vertical. WorldEdit’s //rotate 0 180 turns the clipboard 180 degrees around X, which puts the roof on the bottom.
I have no permission for //paste. Can I still turn the build?
Yes, on your client, with the Rotation button. Friends will not see the ghost. The blocks appear for them only after a paste someone is allowed to run, or after you place them.
