Litematica 26.3 not working
On Minecraft 26.3 with Litematica 0.29.1, typing in the Load Schematics search box can do nothing. That matches an open bug on the Litematica GitHub, issue #401, opened 2026-09-28. This page shows how to tell that bug from a broken install, and what to do for each.
A three-minute check
- Open a world on the 26.3 instance, press M, and open Load Schematics.
- Type part of a file name. If the list does not filter, note that.
- Close it. Press M+C to open the Configs screen and type in its search box. Close it and try the search box a second time.
- If Load Schematics ignores typing, and Configs filters only the first time, you match GitHub issue #401. Your install is not at fault.
- If Configs also fails on the first try, or M does nothing at all, the jars or the instance are wrong. Use the table below.
The second half of that test comes straight from the report. It says search still works in the Configs menu, but only the first time: after you search and stop, it will not let you search again. That is a useful tell, because a wrong jar does not behave that way.
What issue #401 says
The issue is titled “Searching not triggering on key press”. In the 26.3 release, the reporter says, search between schematics does not start when pressing any keyboard key in the Load Schematics and Schematic Manager menus. The test setup in the report was a fresh 26.3 instance with MaLiLib 0.30.2, Litematica 0.29.1, and Fabric Loader 0.19.5. A screen recording is attached to the issue.
The reporter also links a commit on a personal fork that they say changes the behaviour. By their own description it was written with an AI agent and was not submitted as a pull request. Treat it as a pointer for the maintainers, not as a fix to install. A jar from an unreviewed fork is a real risk; the Litematica vulnerability and file safety pages explain why mod jars are worth checking.
What we do not know: whether 0.29.0 behaves the same, what the cause is, and when it will be fixed. We did not reproduce it on our own 26.3 instance. Everything above is from the report. As of 2026-10-03 the issue is open and has no comments.
What to do while it is open
- Keep the list short. Load Schematics lists the schematics folder and its subfolders. A few folders and clear file names make scrolling workable without search.
- Load by scrolling. Click the file, then Load Schematic. Typing is not needed to load.
- Use another instance if search matters. The report is written against the 26.3 release and does not say which earlier versions worked. A 1.21.4 instance is also where this site’s generator files are meant to load, see how to install Litematica.
- Watch the issue and the Modrinth versions. A new 26.3 file would appear on Modrinth’s Litematica versions page. Take the jar from there, with the matching MaLiLib.

Modrinth lists litematica-fabric-26.3-0.29.1.jar (published 2026-09-27) and malilib-fabric-26.3-0.30.2.jar (also 2026-09-27) as the newest 26.3 pair we found on 2026-10-03. Minecraft 26.3 itself was released on 2026-09-15. The full table and the install order are on Litematica 26.3.

Why does typing do nothing in the Litematica Load Schematics screen on 26.3?
A user report on the Litematica GitHub, issue #401, opened 2026-09-28, describes exactly that: on the 26.3 release, pressing keys does not start a search in Load Schematics or Schematic Manager. Is there a fixed Litematica build for 26.3?
Not one we can point to. Modrinth’s newest 26.3 Litematica file on 2026-10-03 was still 0.29.1, published 2026-09-27. The reporter mentions a fork commit that changes the behaviour, but says it was written with an AI agent and is not a pull request. We have not tested it, and we do not recommend swapping in a jar from an unreviewed fork.
Does the bug stop me from loading a schematic?
The report is about search, not loading. You can still scroll the Load Schematics list and click a file. If the list is empty, that is a different problem: the folder or the file extension.
Will a schematic from this generator load on Minecraft 26.3?
This site’s files are Java 1.21.4, data version 4189. We have not claimed they open under 26.3, so for a hologram from the generator use a 1.21.4 Fabric instance.
