How to Load a Schematic on a Server
Put the .litematic in the schematics folder of the client you join with. Enter the server world, press M, then Load Schematics, and create a placement. The server does not receive the file.
Steps
- Install Fabric, MaLiLib, and Litematica on the client you use to join. The server’s plugin folder does not load Litematica for you.
- Copy the .litematic into that instance’s schematics folder. plugins/WorldEdit/schematics will not list it in Load Schematics.
- Join the server and wait until you are in the world. The M menu is not on the multiplayer screen.
- Press M, then Load Schematics, select the file, and load it. Then create the placement. The file on disk is not a hologram until this step.
- Rotate or move that placement on your client. Other players still do not see the ghost.
- If the blocks must exist for everyone, someone with permission pastes the .schem.
Operating-system paths for that client folder, including CurseForge and Prism instance directories, are how to import a litematic file. The same folder is used for every server you join with that instance. You do not get a second schematics directory per IP address.
What the server never does with this file
A Paper or Fabric server does not grow a Litematica list because a player connected. Copying the download into plugins/WorldEdit/schematics prepares a .schem paste, and only if the extension is actually .schem. The hologram button and the paste button on this generator are two files from one grid. Take the .litematic for the client menu.
After the placement exists, turn it with the Rotation button: how to rotate schematics in Litematica. Who is allowed to see ghost blocks, what a Realm refuses to install, and why //paste can say you lack permission, stay on Litematica on a server. The paste command order is WorldEdit import. If that server rejects your client version, you cannot stand in the world and open this hologram at the same time.
The file you open while connected is still a schematic, not a world save. The shapes are on Schematics Minecraft, and the .litematic save is the Litematica schematics download.
FAQ
The server is 1.21.4, but my client is 1.20.1. Will the file load?
These files are Minecraft data version 4189. A 1.20.1 Litematica can reject block states it does not have, even when the schematics folder is the right one. Match the client to 1.21.4.
I dropped the .litematic in the WorldEdit schematics folder. Why is the list empty?
That folder is for //schem load of a .schem. Litematica only lists its own schematics directory on the client. A Paper server has no Litematica directory to put the file in. WorldEdit page.
The placement I made in single-player is missing on the server.
Each world keeps its own placement list on your client. Joining a server does not carry the single-player placement with you. Load the file again in that world.
Can I do this on a Realm?
The Realm will not run the mod. Your client can still load the file after you join, which is the same folder and the same M menu. What a Realm will not do is covered with the permission rules.
