Minecraft schematic size limits

The generator will not emit an arbitrary mega-base. There is a hard cap on every side of the box, and the prompt’s numbers are clamped before a single block is placed. This page is that math.

The cap

Every build is at most 20 blocks wide, high and deep, with a .litematic, .schem and material list. One build a day is free; more are a one-time payment. Type the three numbers instead of assuming a cube.

How a prompt becomes a size

Three numbers in the line, each one or two digits, from 3 to 64, become width, height, and depth. “13x9x11” is exact. Two numbers set width and depth, and height is about three quarters of the smaller one. One number sets width and depth, and height is about 70 percent of it. “100” does not mean one hundred. The scanner reads two digits, so 100 becomes 10, and the leftover zero is discarded. Type 20 if you want the cap.

With no numbers, size words apply: tiny 8, small 11, medium 16, large 22, huge 32, mega 40. Then the cap applies: large, huge, and mega are all 20. Width and depth will not go under 5. Height will not go under 3. A castle is raised to at least 15 on width and depth when the cap allows, because four turrets plus a keep do not fit in a hut footprint. A castle you described as 8×8×8 still grows toward 15 and then stops at 20, so you simply get a small castle, not an error.

The word list and the shape priority are on prompt tips. A size cannot turn a house prompt into a castle. Shape is chosen first.

What still fits for free

The house preset is 13×9×11. The spruce cabin preset is 11×8×11. A 9×18×9 tower fits in 20. A 16×12×16 castle fits. The default farm is 15×7×13. The default bridge is 19×8×7. All of those are within the cap, and they are the sizes the kernels were tuned around.

A typed side longer than 20, such as a 21×14×21 castle or a 32-long wall, is clamped to 20. If the preview looks stubbier than the numbers you typed, the clamp did it. Read the size in the result before you build the material list into a shopping trip.

Daily quota is not the same as size

One free generate per UTC day means one compile, which already includes both downloads. You do not spend the generate twice to get the .schem. Details are on schem to litematic. Leaving the tab and coming back tomorrow is a new generate. Failed loads in Litematica are not a size problem. A house fails the same way at any size if it is in the wrong folder. Use Litematica not working for that, and import for the path.

WorldEdit will paste whatever box you generated, up to that cap. It will not expand a file after the fact. To use it, import the .schem.

Measured file sizes for every shape are on how big a .litematic file is, and the block totals in stacks and shulker boxes are on blocks a schematic needs.
