What the arch kernel builds
An arch prompt writes two pillars, each two blocks wide, running the full height and the full depth of the box. Between them the generator fills the top of the box with a second block, then leaves a half-circle gap open underneath. The pillars use the wall block of the palette; the top uses the accent block, which is cobblestone in the oak and stone palettes (spruce, dark oak, and cherry use cobbled deepslate, stone bricks, and calcite). That is why a stone brick arch is stone brick pillars under a cobblestone top, and an oak arch is oak planks under cobblestone.
The opening is centred in the width. Its radius is half of the width minus four, so the pillars are never part of the curve. The highest point of the opening is one block below the top of the box, which leaves one solid layer above it. For an 11×9×7 arch that means a gap that is seven blocks wide at its widest and eight blocks high at the centre. The front and back faces are identical, so it reads the same from either side.
Choose a size
Width sets the span: width minus four is the gap between the pillars, and half that is the radius. Height decides how much solid wall is above the opening, and depth is how thick the gate is, front to back. For a thin garden arch, try a width of 9 and a depth of 5. For a castle-style gate, try 15 wide, 11 high, and 7 deep. Free downloads allow up to 20 on a side, Pro up to 48. How the numbers in a prompt are read is on the size limits page, and palette words are on prompt tips.
Place it
Download the .litematic and load it in Litematica. The arch is mostly solid, so the material list is the part to check first: even the small one needs more than three hundred blocks. For a creative paste, use the .schem with the WorldEdit import steps or Litematica’s paste mode.
The arch pairs well with a castle or a bridge. Java Edition only.
FAQ
What words make the generator build an arch?
Arch, gateway, or gatehouse. If the prompt also contains castle, tower, bridge, pyramid, or dome, one of those kernels wins instead, so type just the arch. A prompt like “castle gateway” gives you a castle.
What does an 11x9x7 stone brick arch contain?
The compile has 252 stone bricks for the two pillars and 105 cobblestone for the top. In an oak palette it is 252 oak planks and 105 cobblestone. The numbers change with the size you type.
Is the opening round?
It is a half circle, drawn in whole blocks, so it looks stepped. The radius is the width minus 4, halved, rounded down. An 11-wide arch has a radius of 3. The opening is as wide as the gap between the pillars up to where the curve starts, then it narrows toward the top.
Can I make a taller doorway?
Yes, raise the height. The curve is placed relative to the top of the box, so a taller box lifts the whole opening. A 20x14x7 arch has a 16-block wide pillar gap and room for a tall gate.
Is there a door, a floor, or a gate in the file?
No. The file is the two pillars and the top, nothing else. There is no floor under the opening, no door, and no torches. Add those after you place it.
