How to import a Litematic into Litematica

The download is not a world file. It is a schematic Litematica projects as a hologram so you can build it in survival with a material list.

  1. Install Fabric and the Litematica mod (plus MaLiLib). This is Java Edition only.
  2. If the schematics folder does not exist, create it. That is the folder Litematica reads.
  3. Download the .litematic from the generator. Do not rename the extension.
  4. Drop the file into that instance’s schematics folder. Nested folders work; Litematica lists them.
  5. In-game press M (default) → Load Schematics → select the file → Load schematic.
  6. Place the hologram with the stick (or configured tool). Move it with the placement menu until it sits on your plot.
  7. Open Material List in Litematica. It should match the CSV on this site. Gather blocks, then build to the ghost.

  • Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\schematics
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/schematics
  • Linux: ~/.minecraft/schematics

How to import a litematic on Mac

The vanilla Java launcher stores saves under ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/. Create schematics next to saves if Litematica has never been opened. Drop the .litematic there, then press M in that same instance. If you installed Fabric with a third-party launcher, ignore this path and use the instance folder below.

CurseForge, Modrinth App, Prism

Launchers isolate instances. Litematica only reads the schematics directory inside the profile you click Play on. In CurseForge: instance → Open Folder. In Modrinth App: instance → … → Open folder. In Prism: instance → Folder. Create schematics if it is missing. Putting the file in the global vanilla .minecraft leaves the in-game list empty.

Where do I put a .litematic file?

In the schematics folder of the instance you launch: Windows %appdata%\.minecraft\schematics, macOS ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/schematics, Linux ~/.minecraft/schematics. CurseForge, Modrinth App, and Prism use the instance folder, not the global .minecraft.

How do I import a litematic on Mac?

Put the file in ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/schematics (create schematics if it is missing). Launch the same Java instance, press M, Load Schematics. On Apple Silicon use a Java 21+ Fabric instance — Litematica is a Java mod, not Bedrock. Open the import guide.

Where is the Litematica folder in CurseForge or Modrinth?

Open the instance → folder / profile directory → schematics. Do not use the global .minecraft from the vanilla launcher. Prism and ATLauncher are the same rule: the instance you click Play on.

Why is Litematica’s schematic list empty?

Wrong instance folder, or the file still has a .litematic.txt double extension from the browser. Rename to .litematic and reload.
