How to Rotate a Schematic in Litematica (Keys + Steps)
Select the placement, press Numpad Minus, and left-click Rotation. The hologram turns 90 degrees clockwise. The .litematic on disk stays as downloaded.
Steps
- Load the .litematic and create a placement. The turn is stored on that placement.
- Press M+P and click the row until it has the white outline, or middle-click the hologram in Schematic Placement mode.
- Press Numpad Minus. The screen title is Configure Schematic placement. Without a numpad, bind openGuiPlacementSettings under M+C, Hotkeys.
- Left-click Rotation. From NONE the label reads CW_90, then CW_180, then CCW_90, then NONE. Right-click walks those labels backward.
- To repeat that clockwise step with no screen open, bind schematicPlacementRotation. Its default string is empty. With the placement selected, the action bar says “Placement rotated to” plus the short name.
PositionUtils mirrors, then rotates the local block position around the origin, so the building can leave the plot. Put it back with how to move a schematic. Mirror on this screen is a flip, covered in how to mirror a schematic.
When the turn does not apply
A locked placement prints “The placement is locked and can't be modified”. Unlock it with Locked on the same screen. Numpad Minus with no row selected prints “No placement selected”. schematicPlacementRotation stays silent in that case: the callback only runs when a placement is selected.
If a sub-region is selected, Numpad Minus opens Configure Placement Sub-Region. Rotation there calls setSubRegionRotation for that region only. Click the placement row so no sub-region is selected, then open the placement screen again. Turning one piece on purpose is how to rotate part of a schematic. //rotate turns a WorldEdit clipboard, which is Litematica vs WorldEdit rotate.
Material list after the turn
setRotation does not rebuild the list. Press Refresh on the material list, or open Material List from Configure Schematic placement. Both call reCreateMaterialList, which schedules TaskCountBlocksPlacement and prints “Scheduled task added...”. Until that finishes, Missing still describes the previous scan. The task compares schematic blocks with the world inside the placement boxes, so the counts follow the hologram’s new footprint.
26.1, 26.2, and 26.3
openGuiPlacementSettings is KP_SUBTRACT on the LTS/26.1 and LTS/26.2 branches, and KP_MINUS on 26.3. MaLiLib 26.3 maps KP_SUBTRACT to KEY_KP_MINUS (SDLK_KP_MINUS), the numpad minus, not the hyphen beside 0. schematicPlacementRotation and schematicPlacementMirror are still empty strings on those three branches and on LTS/1.21.4. The screen title, the locked sentence, and the action-bar sentence match in each en_us.json.

FAQ
Can I turn it 15 or 45 degrees?
No. cycleRotation only walks the four vanilla Rotation values. There is no degree field.
